Mayslake Village was founded in 1963 by Father Mark Hegener, OFM, one of the earliest advocates of the needs and rights of the elderly in America.

Resting on 45 acres of the former Peabody estate in Oak Brook, Illinois, The Village is one of the largest Federally funded Senior Housing Developments in the Country.

The first 110 apartments of Mayslake Village, called the Wings, were dedicated in 1964. Since then there have been four expansions in the development, bringing the total number of apartments to 630. All but 48 of these units were created with direct loans from HUD, and are earmarked for Senior Citizens who meet Federal income limitations.

Mayslake Village has been a leader in Senior care DuPage County for over 30 years. It has been home to over 2500 elderly and has demonstrated that economical, affordable housing with adequate support systems can be more than a dream.

Most of all it has given back to Seniors what Ollie Randall, a founding member of the National Council on Aging calls their three greatest losses...'status, security, and serenity.'
