Mayslake Village is a 501(c)3 organization founded in 1965 that serves the needs of 650+ low-income senior citizens. In 2014 we established the Mayslake Village Spread the Health Program to assist our low-income residents in these three areas dental care, eyeglasses and hearing aids.
The Mayslake Village Spread the Health Program was established to address the health and wellness needs of our residents. The constantly changing health insurance world has made it extremely difficult for seniors on a fixed income to obtain the medical services they need. Medicare, the primary insurance for the majority of our residents, does not cover the cost of dental care, eyeglasses or hearing aids.
All administrative costs for the Spread the Health Program are covered in other areas. Therefore, 100 percent of the donations we receive go directly to our residents.
The Spread the Health Fund requires the resident to fill out a simple application. Grants from the fund are awarded on a sliding scale based on income and assets. Depending on income the grant may cover from 50% to 100% of the cost. Dental services remain the most popular request from applicants for a grant.
The demand for these services continues to grow.
Please consider supporting the Spread the Health Program with a donation.
Thank you!
